Hope Cosme

LCSW-A

I've always been someone who genuinely enjoys getting to know people beyond the surface. I believe every person's story is unique, and I approach each client with curiosity rather than assumptions. Whether we're celebrating a major milestone or recognizing the small victories that are easy to overlook, I believe progress deserves to be acknowledged.

I strive to balance empathy with honesty. I'll meet you where you are while also gently encouraging you to grow at a pace that feels manageable. I don't believe therapy is about "fixing" people. I believe it's about helping people better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, build self-trust, and develop the confidence to navigate life's challenges.

I also don't believe therapy has to feel overly formal or intimidating. Healing can include laughter, moments of lightness, and even a little humor when it's helpful. Life asks us to wear a lot of different hats and often leaves little room to simply be ourselves. I hope therapy can be one place where you don't have to perform, just show up as you are.

I am especially passionate about working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families, and I strive to create an affirming, culturally responsive environment where individuals of all identities, backgrounds, and family structures feel welcomed, respected, and supported.

MY APPROACH TO THERAPY

Starting therapy can be intimidating, and I believe it should feel like a place where you don't have to pretend everything is okay. My goal is to create an environment where you feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are; whether you're ready to dive into the hard stuff, need a space to process, or simply aren't sure where to begin.

I see therapy as a partnership. While I bring clinical knowledge, evidence-based tools, and a fresh perspective, you are the expert on your own life. Together, we'll work to better understand not only what's happening, but why it's happening. By exploring the patterns behind your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, we can begin creating meaningful and lasting change.

I believe therapy should be both compassionate and practical. Some sessions may be emotional, others may be focused on learning new skills, setting goals, or solving problems. More often than not, they'll be a little bit of both. My hope is that you leave each session feeling more understood, more confident, and equipped with tools you can use beyond our time together. My background includes supporting children, families, and individuals through community-based services, family support programs, advocacy, and resource navigation. These experiences have shaped my belief that people are resilient and that healing often happens through connection, understanding, and feeling supported.

I am committed to continuing my professional growth through ongoing education and training so I can provide thoughtful, compassionate, and evidence-based care tailored to each individual's unique needs and experiences.
