She/Her
Megan Workman
LCSW
I can be truly straightforward while being engaging in this work, which means I don't have to pretend to be someone I'm not. I worked for many years in DSS, which means I know how to tackle difficult situations while keeping my cool. I love individual therapy and will dedicate myself to finding the best path forward with you.
MY APPROACH TO THERAPY
You cannot pour from an empty cup! I am a straightforward and direct therapist who truly wants to help you keep that cup full (or at least begin filling it up). I love working with people who are finding themselves struggling with relational issues or balancing their overwhelming to-do lists — boundary work is my absolute favorite. I focus on building your toolbox so that you leave the first few sessions with tools to immediately put in place while we explore how to rebuild the foundations of your life to move forward on stronger ground. I often work best with professionals, college students, and busy moms. I am trained in cognitive behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing. I am also receiving current training in mindfulness-based CBT, Gottman theory for relationships, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I have extensive experience working with individuals who have struggled with boundary challenges, substance use, depression, anxiety, divorce/relationship breakdown, and attachment issues. I have built my experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community and have developed a specialty in gender identity work.
FUN FACTS
I have a handsome big dog whom I spoil. I'm a native of West Virginia. I love decorating for the holidays.
